About the Artist

The Artist: Megan Wittenberg

I am in love with the earth and in awe of all its amazing details. I make art for all the people who feel the same way.

I research, sketch and make art working in watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink, graphite and acrylic, often in combinations.

My artistic side brings my work a sense of design and beauty while my scientific side brings detail and accuracy.

I was born, raised, and still live in Seattle WA. I am an artist, a nerd, a family gal, a gardener, a crafter, and a loyal friend. I love to learn about Botany, Entomology, Biology, Marine Biology, Astronomy, Geology, Macro Photography, Fibonacci, Spirals, and much more.

I received a bachelor's degree from Fairhaven College at Western Washington University (1987) where I couldn’t decide between being a Marine Biologist and being an artist. Luckily I later found the Scientific Illustration Certification Program (1997) at the University of Washington and found my people. My life is science based and beauty informed.
